The structure of medical school tuition has been meticulously designed to be "student
friendly,"" making the dream of pursuing a medical career more financially accessible for
every aspiring student. Prior to the start of each semester, students are required to pay
the tuition and fees in full. Other school fees must be settled by the due date indicated
on the invoice, typically within 30 days. These mandatory fees apply to all students.

class or rotations. This fee will be applied to the cost of tuition upon registration for
students who matriculate through the University.
- The enrollment reservation fee (seat deposit) is non-refundable and will be forfeited if
the student chooses not to attend or withdraws from the medical school.
- The visa processing fee applies only to students who require a visa and does not
apply to US, Canadian, and European citizens or residents.
Other Fees :
Late Payment Fee :
- 10% of the total semester fee (applied only when payment is past due).
Late Registration Fee :
- $500 (applied when a student arrives on campus late, missing orientation, or fails to
attend a scheduled rotation).
Deferment Fee :
- A $500 non-refundable fee to be paid when requesting to defer the matriculation date
after the payment of the enrollment fee
Medical Malpractice Insurance :
- Medical Malpractice Insurance is a mandatory requirement for all clinical medicine
students at AUSM. To participate in clinical rotations, medical students must pay the full
amount of $1200.00 for medical malpractice insurance during the MD6 and MD9
semesters of the clinical program. Please note that the insurance cost may change
during the program period, depending on the premiums paid by the University.
Student Scrubs and Lab Coat Purchase (required) :
- All students are expected to purchase a set of embroidered scrubs and an
embroidered lab coat. Embroidered scrubs are necessary attire for all school labs, while
embroidered scrubs and lab coats are required for off-campus learning facilities.

For further information, please reach out to the admissions department.

- A non-refundable $200 loan processing fee is applicable.
Average Cost of Living :

roommates, being mindful of utility usage, cooking meals at home, and practicing daily
budgeting, students can reduce these costs. Transportation expenses will depend on
the chosen commuting method. Please remember that these amounts are provided as
an average and individual needs may vary.
Payment Options :
- The Bursar's Office handles student fee billing and collection. Payments can be made
through credit/debit card, cash, money order, bank draft, or wire transfer. Students
awaiting loan disbursement may provisionally register for classes.
US Military Discount :
- As a token of gratitude for the service and dedication of United States Active Duty
and/or Military Veterans enrolled in the program, the American University of Sint
Maarten School of Medicine offers a 10% military service discount on semester tuition
fees. For more information, please contact the Admissions Department.
